If you don't have admin privileges but need them to perform any task on your device that requires this role, you can enable an Administrator account in Windows.
To do this, we need access to the Windows recovery environment so we can get to Command prompt and be able to run commands with Admin access, you have a couple of options to get to the recovery environment:
Contents:
Option 1:
- Go to Settings
- Click on System> Recovery
- Click on Restart now under Advanced Startup
Click Here to go to Windows Recovery Screen Step
Option 2:
- Open the start menu
- Click on the Power icon and select Restart while pushing the Shift key
Click Here to go to Windows Recovery Screen Step
Option 3:
- Go to your Lock Screen
- Click on the Power icon and select Restart while pushing the Shift key
In the Windows recovery screen:
Select Command prompt as shown in the screenshot above.
In Command prompt type {Net user Administrator /active:yes} and hit enter. See the screenshot below:
Restart your device and you will see the Administrator account now showing on your lock screen!
Note: To disable the administrator account run the following command in Command prompt: {Net user Administrator /active:no} and hit enter.
