The password and username will be used whenever you as an Administrator or standard user is prompted for Admin credentials to install or make a change in his device.
- Install a program
- Run a PowerShell script
- Run a command line
- Change a local user setting
Note: If not sure if LAPs is already deployed or properly configured in your tenant, you can contact BEMO Support for help.
Steps:
- Go to Intune Admin Center (Make sure you first activate your Global or Intune Administrator role if enrolled in PIM)
- Select Devices > All Devices > Enter the device name or user display name to search it and click on it
- Select Local Admin Password from device options > click on Show local administrator password
- In the new window that opens to your right you will be able to see the local admin account name and the password > click on Show to see the password to user
- Now enter the account name and password on the users device, as display below once you are prompted for admin credentials and click Yes
How to rotate the password
Once you have used the password and you confirm you no longer need Admin rights at the moment, rotate the key:
- In the selected device options click Overview > click on the dots (...) in the upper right > select Rotate local admin password
2.Click Yes on the next window that pops up.
