There are ways to back up your bookmarks and ensure you don't lose them. In this article, we’ll walk you through how to back up your browser favorites, with and without account sync.
Sync your data with your account (Google, Firefox, Microsoft Edge)
Modern browsers offer the option to sync your bookmarks across devices by logging into a specific account.
Microsoft Edge
- Open the Edge by clicking its icon on your desktop, taskbar, or application menu.
- Select the profile icon in the top-right corner of the browser window. It might display a default avatar or your account initials.
- From the list of options, choose the account you want to sign in to or if your account is not listed, choose Add new account.
- If you see Manage profile settings, you're already signed in.

When you sign into any of your browsers on another device, your bookmarks will automatically be synced, and you can access them right away
Manually Export/Import Favorites and Bookmarks
If you don’t have a sync account, you can still manually back up your bookmarks by exporting them and saving them in a safe location.
